First Responders

The Crossroads First Responders ministry was started to show our local 1st Responders that we love and support them and to connect them with the community through church sponsored events. Over the past three years, we have hosted a hero dinner to start off National Police Week, delivered flowers and handmade cards on 9/11, provided breakfast at a memorial service held annually for a fallen officer, provided lunch for the Middle River Jail employees, delivered coffee, doughnuts, lunches, dinners, and snacks, prayed with on duty officers and busy firefighters, handed out many hero cards, and built many relationships. Just as each church member is unique, every 1st Responders is facing their own challenges in their hearts and in their homes. They covet prayers and taking the time to pray with them during a busy day. The hero cards are designed as something they can carry in their pocket to remind them that someone is praying for them. On April 2, local units will be with us for the Easter egg hunt. In May, we will host our 4th Hero dinner for National Police Week. For the September 11 fireworks display, we are hoping the ladder truck will once again make an appearance. Between May and August, we will be providing lunch for the Middle River Jail. Each month we make an effort to stay in contact with all our local departments, asking for prayer needs and providing food of some sort. We love our First Responders and are grateful to them and their families for the sacrifices they make to keep our community safe. They are a vital part of any community and it is our privilege to work with them.
