Heath Spivey, Senior Pastor
I grew up a Pastor's kid. My parents, Clay and Martha Spivey, have faithfully served the Lord for over 40 years! I accepted Christ as my personal Savior at the age of 17. After being homeschooled, I worked as a bank teller while attending seminary, and received my bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University.
Since 2001, I have had the great privilege to serve in church ministry as a youth director, music director, and administrative pastor. While serving as administrative pastor, the Lord began working in my heart to begin pastoring. One year later, the Lord opened the doors and led my family here to Crossroads Baptist Church in Fishersville, VA. I count it a great blessing being able to serve as Crossroads' Senior Pastor.
I met my wife, Michelle, at a Christian camp in Hillsville, VA. We were married on July 16, 2005. Michelle heads up the Ladies Ministries here at Crossroads, and she actively counsels, helps and coordinates in any and every way possible. Family, church and marriage demand alot! I give Jesus the glory knowing that Michelle walks with God as she works behind the scenes to meet ministry needs and aid the health of the body of Christ here.
Michelle and I have two beautiful daughters, Kennedy and Kensley. They are the light of our lives! The Bible plainly states in 1 Timothy 3:15 that "if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?". Michelle and I strive to prioritize our children and family above all else. Our prayer is that the love we lead with at home spills over into serving of our church family.
One of my passions is sports; but even though I love the Philadelphia Eagles, Boston Red Sox and North Carolina Tar Heels (amen!), I will always believe that our love for the Lord should supersede our love of anything earthly we enjoy or endeavor to do!
We love the Lord and the people at Crossroads, and we are dedicated to serve as the Lord has called us to do. We look forward to what God has for the future growth at Crossroads Baptist Church and would count it a great blessing if you kept our family at home and at church in your prayers!
Be our guest soon!
Pastor Heath Spivey
