John Hash, Assistant Pastor
Bro. John was saved at age 4 and answered the call to preach when he was 14. He moved back to Virginia in 2017 from Charlotte, North Carolina, where he served as the youth pastor of Harbor Baptist Church for 7 years and worked alongside Pastor Spivey. Bro. John heads up our visitor relations and assimilation processes here at Crossroads. He teaches the Sunday morning Starting Point class, which helps visitors and prospective members understand what Crossroads is all about. He also coordinates our Community Outreach, along with heading up our exciting Wednesday Night Master Clubs Kids Program! He graduated from the Crown College of the Bible, and was married to his wife, Mrs. Alena, between their Junior and Senior year of college.
Mrs. Alena helps with visitor relations and assists with the Ladies Ministries. She is also a Crown College Alumnus and was a business manager for 10 years. She has a heart for discipling young ladies and couples. They currently have one daughter (Alethea) and one son (Desmond).
The Hash Family look forward to helping you in any way necessary!
Martha Spivey, Administrative Assistant
A friend invited me to ride the church bus with her and I started attending First Missionary Baptist Church when I was 14 years old, and then a family would pick me up to attend the evening services. I am so thankful for that family! One Sunday night while sitting in a church service the Lord spoke to my heart and let me know that I needed to give Him my heart and my life. I accepted the Lord that night as my personal Savior and surrendered my life to Him. I started working with the Bus Ministry and later teaching Sunday School. My pastor encouraged me to go to a Christian college and I did. I met my husband, Clay, at youth camp while we were both counselors for our churches. We then attended Florida Baptist College together and married the next year. We have been blessed with three children and five grandchildren.
We have served together in multiple ministries for our entire married life. Clay was an assistant pastor, music director, youth pastor and bus director for many years and pastored for 16 years. We served as director and administrative director of a church missions board for 8 years.
